This video shows a typically domino effect. Certain movements in the world always have a cause and an effect. This is a very Enlightenment idea. They believed that everything was caused by something previously. In this video you see a small toy car hitting into a line of Dominoes starting this huge chain reaction. The cause would be the car and the effect would be everything that fell after wards. In the end a huge banner drops and all this confetti is going everywhere, this was all cause by that one little toy car.
We Are The World
This song was originally done by Michael Jackson and a few others. It was redone after the disaster in Haiti by many musical artists. This shows that even though there are many group and countries that have many differences, people can come together and support a country in their time of need. Not only is Genesis about beginning and the beginning of life but its about the beginning of new times and bonds between different types of people.
I Gotta Feelin'
This popular song by the Black Eyed Peas was performed on Oprah. They had assigned dancers to perform as the audience. Genesis often times has to do with chain reactions. Sometimes something else won’t begin unless it’s caused by the end of something else. In this video you will see how this happens within chain reactions of the dancers.
AT&T
Rethink Possible- Ripple Effect
This video is a commercial for AT&T and shows how if he didn't change his train ticket he never would have met his wife and they never would have had a kid together who became the president of the United States. In Genesis many thing happen that cause an entire butterfly or ripple effect towards other events. For example in the Bible if the snake didn't persuade Eve to eat teh apple snakes would have arms and legs and the world wouldnt be exposed to evil. Weather these reprocusions were for better or for worse they still occured because of one action by Eve to eat the fruit that was forbidden to be eaten.
The Color Purple
The movie Color Purple is about Ms. Celie, who is a poorly treated wife that acts as a slave for her husband and his kids. In the clip you will see a character, Shug Avery, a famous singer singing to Ms. Celie about her life. Shug Avery is the love of Ms. Celie’s husband’s life. When Ms. Celie was a young girl her father, who was also abusive, told her that her smile was ugly, which is why-in this clip-you see her constantly covering her smile. Throughout her life she has always been trying to start new from this. When Shug Avery comes along, she feels she’s finally started her life again with the help of Shug Avery.
P.S. I Love You
This movie shows a woman who had lost her husband to unexpected cancer. Through all her grief and misery she realizes her passion for designing shoes. This turns her life around and she begins a new chapter in her life without her husband by her side. She learns a new level of happiness, which can come from her own accomplishments.
Pretty Woman
This movie shows a former working girl who is taken in by a rich entrepreneur who gives her money to transform herself. Throughout this process she sees how a different class in society can act towards others, and she experiences a new way of life. She is in love with her new life so much, and with the man she is with, that she never returns to her old ways. This is a perfect example of how one can go from being at rock bottom, to restarting their life at the top of the world.
Hairspray
In this clip, Tracy decides to protest for African American rights along with other African Americans. Although she was the only Caucasian person protesting, she still fought for what she believed was right. She wanted African Americans to have the same privileges as whites; she wanted them to have a new beginning because their lives were unfair and unjust.
Secret Life of Bees
The main character Lily is abused by her father, causing her to runaway with her nanny played by Jennifer Hudson. They both end up staying with another family and they soon begin to love and care for each other. At the end of the movie, Lily and the nanny end up becoming part of their family. This movie discloses the birth of a new family.
The Blind Side
The Blind side is a movie about a boy named Michael who had a drug and alcohol addicted mother and basically lived on the streets. He could barely afford to wash his own clothes. When he gets into a big private school for sports he was found wandering the streets by the Touhy’s who brought him into their home and gave him the chance he deserved to play football. Although he wasn't great at first, he got better and better and became the professional football player that we see today.
